So I had this idea
Happy Friday, Friends!
I've been on the road! Colorado, California, Berlin, and I'm off to North Carolina next week. It's been wonderful, but I'm happy to have a quick breather back home with my boy and my dog.
Here's a quick update:
Podcast Season #2 sneak peek and a new idea

While I was in Colorado teaching therapeutic yoga and writing for the Expedition Balance Veteran's retreat, I convinced this dude to record a podcast with me. Aryeh is a 23-year veteran of both the Army and Navy, and Bandit is his service pit bull. We had a fantastic conversation about some important things: military sexual trauma, suicide, the treatment of Vets post-service, and the stigma around pit bulls. We also talked about why Aryeh likes yoga, what other careers I might want to try, and the subconscious reason why I might love the idea of renovating old houses. It was a great talk and I can't wait for you all to listen to it. (If you're not caught up on season #1 - you can do that here.)
I also had an idea while I was in Colorado. I was thinking about doing a documentary about Veterans and the ways that these retreats are helpful to them. These men and women have incredible stories that need to be heard, and I think we need to understand the sacrifices these warriors have made, and understand how to better support them when they come home. The camaraderie, connection, and healing that takes place during these trips is pretty amazing. And I want to share that. What do you think? Sound interesting?
What I'm reading
Three Women by Lisa Taddeo
What I'm not watching because it makes me cry
This week was the five year anniversary of the death of Robin Williams. These deleted scenes with Robin and I from Mrs. Doubtfire are making the rounds again. And I'm avoiding them because it's still hard for me to watch him. But you might like them. :)
Who I talked to
I did a super fun interview with the BBC yesterday, talking about all manner of things. I think I managed to not say anything too humiliating, so I'll let you know when that interview is posted.
Where I'm going next
I'm leading a women's writing retreat in Boone, NC! There is still space to join us if you want to hang out in the mountains, do a little yoga, do a little writing, and have silly amounts of fun. Details here.
Your ego boost for the day

This very kind bathroom graffiti in Berlin had an important message for you all. You DO all look great, you sexy people. Now go do amazing things.
With gratitude & love,
~ Lisa
